Burn Subtitles into Video
Permanently burn SRT or VTT subtitles into a video's frames — free and processed entirely in your browser.
About Burning Subtitles into Video
Subtitle files work great in players that support loading them separately, but plenty of places — social media platforms, some messaging apps, older devices — only show what's actually baked into the video itself. Burning captions in permanently guarantees they show up everywhere, no separate file required.
Upload your video and an SRT or VTT subtitle file, adjust the font, color, and position, and every caption is drawn directly onto the matching frames as your video is re-encoded. Everything runs locally in your browser using the Canvas and MediaRecorder APIs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still turn the captions off after this?
No — burning captions in makes them a permanent part of the video's pixels. If you might want captions optional later, keep your original subtitle file and video separately as a backup.
Does this support both SRT and VTT?
Yes — upload either format directly; if you have a different subtitle format, convert it first with our SRT to VTT or VTT to SRT tools.
Can I do fancy styles like karaoke or word-by-word highlighting?
Not currently — this displays each caption as a complete line at once, the standard, most widely-compatible style, rather than effects that need much more precise per-word timing data than most subtitle files include.
Is my video or subtitle file uploaded anywhere?
No. Rendering happens entirely in your browser.
